Job Description:

The Director of Admission reports to the SVP of Business Development. The position’s sole mission is to increase corporate census through proactive oversight of intake personnel. This is a corporate position covering Arizona, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, and Texas.

Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage the daily activities of all agency intake personnel. This will include tracking of all inquiries/referrals/admissions independent of both sales and operations.
  • With the cooperation and suggestion of the clinical and business development officers, design and implement a comprehensive strategic plan of referrals to admissions of new home health patients in all offices.
  • Manage a post discharge call log system and hold intake personnel responsible for 7/14/30/60/90-day post discharge calls. Incentivize all intake personnel on the number of readmitted patients brought back to our agencies.
  • Track all denials, regardless of reason. Publish monthly denial report of insurances, patient refusals, and other specific reasons of patients not being brought on service.
  • Conduct customer service and retention training monthly to all intake personnel.
  • Oversee all pending referrals and vet each situation of insurances/payments through COO.
  • Proactively seek new opportunities for additional payer sources.
  • Hire intake personnel and design and implement a comprehensive strategy to retain all staff.
  • Direct the admissions training process from point of inquiry through admission.
  • Develop with the VP of Business Development, the admissions scripts and training materials.
  • Publish actual weekly conversion percentages to all officers of the company with each office represented.
  • Evaluate continually and redesign where appropriate all aspects of the admissions procedure with the goal of maintaining a capacity census within AMH.
  • Keep relevant statistics on all aspects of the admission and readmission and report monthly trending.
  • Work closely with regional sales and operations managers on proactive steps required in each office.
  • Attend all manager level meetings each quarter along with requested sales and operational weekly calls.
