About the position:
The Clinical Regulatory Specialist provides documentation coordination, including policies, regulatory reporting, additional development requests for Medicare and Non-Medicare Payors, as well as medical records requests from outside entities.
Essential Job Functions:
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of EMR privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations and adheres to HIPPA requirements, state and federal guidelines.
- Exercise independent judgment and discretion to pull ADR’s daily for all payors.
- Notify the agency of the medical record request and pull records to send to MAC’s, insurance contractors, and all other requestors.
- Must be able to follow standard filing procedures.
- Exercise independent judgment when in receipt of records to make sure that the record will support claim payment.
- Ensure accurate timelines for every level of appeals process.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years home health or similar experience in field and back office.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent computer skills required.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to take direction with a multitude of tasks.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of Medicare regulatory guidelines.
- Must be detail oriented and able to work with minimal supervision.
